The athletes get to participate in a sports environment structured for their success.Players learn and grow while having lots of fun. Challenger Baseball provides an essential opportunity for kids to develop stronger emotional & social skills. The athletes are encouraged to “get off the bench and play”! Playing Challenger Baseball assists to install a “can do” attitude in the players. The positive experience helps “Children & Adults” gain confidence. In turn, their self-esteem grows stronger.Challenger Baseball stresses the idea of participation over competition. Every player gets to bat, field and “run” the bases. Balls & strikes are not counted. Victories come in the form of achievement and involvement in the game. There are three absolute rules…… Be safe, have fun and everyone gets to play ball.

Eligible Players
“Children & Adults” that are physically or mentally disabled are welcome to join. Players can start at the age of 4 (before May 1, 2015) & continue to participate in the program throughout their Adult Life.

Volunteers are needed to Coach & Assist the Athletes.

Long Description The objective of the Visual Disabilities program is to prepare individuals to work with children who are blind or have low vision. Following graduation, the teacher may be employed in a variety of settings, such as a resource room or as an itinerant teacher in a public school, at a school for the blind, or at an agency serving children who have visual impairments. Most graduates find immediate employment in this field and lead satisfying professional lives facilitating the development of skills of children with visual impairments. A non-certification track, Visual Disability Studies, is also available to individuals who are not interested in a teaching career.
